As much as I love this band, and this is probably my fav track of the year, got to agree with Nath. The "fucking" throws me every time. It's new for this band (not the vocalists other band) and it's out of place. But I'm in the minority on that.

Man, Starset sound nothing like BMTH. Infinitely better.

You don’t hire Jason to be in your band and not put face melting solos in EVERY song.

I respect this band for what it did for the genre back in the day, but I’ve never loved their vocals.

Huge fan of the band from the OG metalcore days. Their early albums are metalcore staples. Oli influenced so many of today's guitarist. He had a unique style in the genre. He kept melodies in his guitar work, and his solos were so well placed without going over the top with them. Jason is a fantastic addition. They are keeping Oli's style alive while bringing some of the newer modern metal sound from Jason. Anthony is very underrated and fits so well with them. This song makes me happy. Hoping there's an album that has a brutal track following the ending of this one. I'm back in my 20s listening to This Darkened Heart.

Plot in you has become one of my favs since last year. Also listening through a second time the chorus gives me Bad Omens vibes. I could hear Noah singing it, if that makes sense.

3 songs from different albums: Perfect Machine (DIVISIONS); Earthrise (HORIZONS); Ricochet (Vessels). BUT If you have time for it too i heavily recommend "Everglow" also from the Vessels album, which feels like an ethereal trip into a black hole.

Landon's voice is so emotive that he could literally add his shopping list as a song's lyrics and I'd still feel emotional listening.

Love John and the heavier feel. However the cleans just don’t quite do it. They have always had the best of the best. I honestly think they should just bring Johnny back. At least for features at the minimum. Johnny has been clean for almost two years now. The longest he has ever been clean.

Selfishly, I need an album of everything they're dropping so far and I hope one is coming. I know Landon said in an Interview that he's tired of making albums, but these songs are TOO DAMN GOOD not to have on a complete record!

It was a nice visualiser (like you I'm tired of banging on how great Landon is). I think the best visualiser I've seen is "A new moral low ground" by Architects.

Love his Vocal style.

Just saw this walking set of stones not only do a lot of his performance in the crowd of that show, then take notice of a large crowd showing up early for Electric Callboy on the stage adjacent to his and starts engaging their crowd as well, after even larger early arrivals show says fuck it and precedes to walk around his own stages crowd or through ( couldn’t see) but then precedes to walk into the center of this stages folks and continue to perform with them (Was just a few rows directly behind me) Most bands are hesitant to anything in the crowd in Cleveland alone due to their associating it with Columbus where the fucking nut bag shot Dimebag. He does this In Columbus Firstly thanks for not assuming we’re that jackwagon but just the act alone of doing it on a whim seeing the gathering storm of people built up over there 🫡

Have enjoyed what I’ve heard on and off, but not really been a fan since the Jonny Craig era…but on first listen, think Speed Demon might be my favourite track from them since DBM. Impressed.

Funny you mention the swearing, its actually the first time Starset has sworn in a song (that I am aware of). Also, this is definitely the heaviest song from Starset. They have a few with heavy breakdowns, but its the first time they had a growl chorus.

Starset has hell in a Die for you and no other swearing in songs ever, so yes it is out of place sadly, otherwise interesting direction they have🤔

Dustin sang for Downplay before Starset, not sure if y'all have heard them before but they've got some stuff a little heavier

I saw and met these guys when they were at 98.9 Bear Bash with Shaman's Harvest, 10 Years, and Chevelle and all bands rocked except Chevelle but Nothing More really stood out and have loved and followed their music ever since. Pretty sure that was 10 years ago or longer

I have loved Starset, very unique sounds combined in the tracks they produce. I'm pretty sure they have never put swear words in their songs before and this feels like it was inserted just for the sake of having curse words in the song. I don't feel like it fits at all, I agree with Nath. I love the music of the track, but I am disappointed they went this way with the words.

This album made me check out this band for the first time. They're a new favorite of mine here lately.

I know you guys have reacted to them before, but I think it's just that it's been quite awhile since they came out with anything new. But they have had heavies in their songs before, but it's not every song. My fave songs are Echo, Disappear, and Telekinetic.

This one is definitely a banger.

As someone who listened to a lot more rock music as a kid, rather than mostly metal as an adult now, this was great! I really enjoyed daughtry back in the day and its wild that his voice sounds as good as ever, and having him lean a little heavier again is super cool. Great song all in all.

I will say as well, they've always been really good with the pauses. Even in their transmissions album (first album) they had a few really well timed pauses and off beat stomps. Would LOVE to see this live though.

Disappear, Other Worlds Than These and Carnivore

I'm so happy with this song. Not going to lie, I HATED their last album. I've been a fan of theirs since their first album released and nothing in their last album wow'd me, if anything it bored me. Most songs sounded the same, the choruses were just the name of the song repeated waaay to many times. Idk... But this song kicks all the ass. I'm so happy with it. Makes me wonder if their old record label pushed them to a direction they didn't want? As for recomendations I'd say Unbecoming, Ricochet and... anything from their Divisions album.

You guys have gotta check out that Breaking Benjamin collab, it's awesome. As far as Starset's style goes, they refer to their genre as "cinematic rock" so they go heavy on the synths and orchestrals and their music videos are all very cinematic. 'Monster' and 'Ricochet' are my favourite of their videos. They have quite a range tone wise, heavier stuff like this song and Telekinetic, lighter stuff like 'dark on me' and 'everglow' (although 'everglow' still has a minute long scream in it lol), and basically everything in between.
